The Zombie Kids of Moose Hollow are the main antagonists of the fourteenth book in the Goosebumps SlappyWorld book series, Fifth-Grade Zombies.
History[]
Todd Coates arrives in Moose Hollow, Wisconsin to live with his aunt Clara and Uncle Jake on their farm. His cousins Mila and Skipper greet him, with Mila being more friendly, while Skipper seems to be more creepy towards Todd, mentioning that there are giant rats in the cornfield. Over time, Todd continues to see people wandering in the cornfield, believing them to be zombie children. However, he's unable to convince the rest of his family about what he saw. Todd meets Mila's friend Shameka who is in a band called "Canned Meat" with Mila. Shameka tells Todd that she heard that a school bus from Ann Arbor once parked near the cornfield and all of the children began wandering in the fields and never came back.
Todd goes to his first day of school in Moose Hollow and soon discovers a room called "Room 5-Z". He also learns from his Aunt Clara that it is the law for all children to attend school, but doesn't elaborate much further. Todd soon sees a bus arrive at the cornfields and zombie children wander through the field. The next day, he sees boxes with Canned Meat labeled on them being brought into room 5-Z. He enters the room and finds all the children inside are zombies, including Mila and Shameka. They reveal that the kids are the ones who entered the cornfields and were mysteriously killed. But somehow the kids became undead zombies. To save the reputation of the town, all children, zombie or otherwise, are forced to go to school with the zombies fed canned meat to keep them from attacking living beings. Todd tries to escape, but gets caught by Skipper, who is also a zombie. As the zombie kids force Todd into the cornfield, he tries to use the lighter his grandfather gave him to burn the cornfield, but it doesn't work. So Todd ultimately agrees to be a zombie, provided he can play harmonica for Mila and Shameka's band.
General Information[]
Personality[]
Some of the zombie kids, like Mila, Shameka and Skipper, seem to still have their mental faculties, as well as the ability to control themselves around living humans like Todd. Others seem to have lost their human state the longer and deader they become, to the point that the only thing keeping them from eating other people is canned meat.
