So, I am creating a short story following Monster Skates, the evil items from the seventh More & More & More Tales To Give You Goosebumps book, Monster on the Ice. I will leave a blurb and a preview here.

Blurb[]

Mickey Gates loves ice hockey. In fact, he's the best at George Carver Middle School. Nothing can mess him up. Nothing. That is, until he buys a "better" pair of hockey skates called Monster Skates. He thinks they are lovely. He practices sliding with the skates, and then he notices he's going too fast and is pushing himself too aggressively. Now he is in a hairy situation. It feels like the skates are stuck to him. Plus, he's growing thick hair and claws. Now he's freaking everyone out wherever he goes. Will Mickey solve his issue or will he stay a beast - forever?

Preview[]

Hi. I am Mickey Gates. My friends call me Mickey Mouse because of my large ears. I didn’t know my life would change big time. But let me tell you the story. It all started on a cold, dark day. Perfect weather for a hockey game, right? Me and my friend Jake were looking for my hockey helmet. I had a feeling someone purposefully took it. Why? Probably because I am the best hockey player in the world. Just kidding. I am the best hockey player at George Carver Middle School, though, that’s for sureI tear up the ice rink and no one tries to stop me. They know they’ll fail. But hey, I would give them props for trying. Then I would crack a smile and start laughing. I’m so nice, huh? Just to put it out there, I am tall, thin, and athletic. Jake is tall, thin, and has strong muscles. I wouldn’t mess with Jake even on a good day. And for the record, he once lifted a nine-year-old with one hand. Isn’t that fun? Three letters: N-o-t. “Where is this freaking helmet? It’s not like it moved itself! I will tear this locker room down!”, Jake exclaimed, shoving everything aside. There’s many differences between Jake and I. For example, Jake loses his temper and starts growling like a beast then throws things, while I quietly try to look through stuff. “Calm down Jake,” I hushed, “We still have time. You might have missed it during that meltdown.” I looked at my Apple watch. I’d completely forgotten to take it off. The time said 1:27. We had three minutes left to find my helmet, or else our team forfeited.

That's actually a two page long preview. I don't wanna give too much away. Just know that they leave off three minutes before a hockey competition.
