|
Addressed via the second person, the reader is made to be the protagonist of this book. The reader has recently moved to a new town, and they've had trouble making friends. A boy roughly their age invites them to be a part of a horror club that he's a member of, which is known as the Horror Club. Meetings for this club are hosted in Bat Wing Hall, an abandoned and supposedly haunted house. |

The reader's parents are briefly mentioned multiple times throughout the book, but play a relatively small role. The reader also has a brother. While he isn't named, the reader's brother is described as bratty. In one ending, the reader gets to play video games with their brother when they return home from Bat Wing Hall. |
| Nick

Nick is a member of the Horror Club and captain of the Red Team. He befriends the protagonist and brings them to Bat Wing Hall. If the reader chooses to join the Red Team, Nick reveals that he is a monster with yellow eyes, green scales, and large fangs. |
| Mr. McCormick

Mr. McCormick is a briefly mentioned teacher at the protagonist's and Nick's school, and he is know for being incredibly tough towards students. |

Debbie is a member of the Horror Club, and she is described as being fidgety and strange. She is a member of the Red Team. If the reader chooses to be on the Red Team, Debbie reveals that she is a purple, wart-covered monster with completely white eyes. |

Connor is a member of the Horror Club and a member of the Red Team. If the reader chooses to be on the Red Team, Connor reveals that he is actually a seven-foot-tall cyclops. |

Lara is a member of the Horror Club and a member of the Blue Team. She has blond hair and is described as being incredibly pretty. |

Martin is a member of the Horror Club and a member of the Blue Team. He is incredibly muscular. |

The reader can encounter Martin's father by traveling to Martin's house in search of help. In one ending, after the reader has transformed into a bat, Martin's father catches the reader and takes them to the zoo. |
| Ra-ma-la-ma

Ra-ma-la-ma is described as "an unimportant Egyptian king". The reader can encounter a mummified Ra-ma-la-ma by entering his tomb, which is located within Bat Wing Hall. The reader may also get to meet a living version of Ra-ma-la-ma if they travel backwards in time. |
