Hi. This week (Tuesdayish), I formatted all the OG series back taglines. Should I do this with the other series as well?

      Loading editor
    • Oh, you did?

      Checks pages...

OH, you did! The colors are right, but you used the old format. The new format uses the fonts "Futura Condensed, Medium Condensed" and the text is slightly smaller. I'm not gonna fault you for it though, cause I never bothered to update the old versions. And you shouldn't worry about going back and fixing them... I think you did a fine job regardless (I kinda think the old format looks better anyway).

      But back to your question.

      • Tales To Give You Goosebumps: It's the same format as the original, so it shouldn't be hard to do.
      • Give Yourself Goosebumps: The first 22 books' back taglines use the same stye as the original series, but you need to find images of the back covers to see what color the back tagline is, as the back covers use different colors from the front covers. As for book 23 and up, I don't remember if their back taglines are colored. If they are, you can add the color but you would also (if you want - this is optional) have to find the font or a similar looking font to add.
      • Goosebumps HorrLand / Hall of Horrors: The back taglines on the pages are colored (for HorrorLand) but don't feature the font used... You would have to find the font or a similar looking font.
      • Most Wanted, SlappyWorld: If I recall correctly, these books have back taglines.
        Loading editor
    • Most Wanted, SlappyWorld: No back taglines.

GYG: GbA *sniffles* used the font once (it's actually on my user page).

I know all the fonts anyway.

I've got scans of the back covers of the books, so I can figure out the colors.

I'm gonna work on this throughout this month.

Plus, I will change the font used for the originals (Why not? It'll increase my edit count.)

    • >I've got scans of the back covers of the books, so I can figure out the colors.

      Ah okay, cool.

      >Plus, I will change the font used for the originals

Aight. This is how the fonts should look like in the code:

<span style="font-family: Futura Condensed, Medium Condensed, Oswald; color: #00000; font-size:18pt;">''TEXT''</span>

    • I'm gonna have to change the BG color of the Still More Tales to Give you Goosebumps row on the Tales to Give you Goosebumps page to #052b40 or 062536. The tagline color is #280f00, but it doesn't show on the dark BG.

    • Ok. I hit an obstacle. I saved my current progress on Tales to Give You GB in my sandbox and left the page the way it was. The free alternative to the font used by the final Tales to Give you Goosebumps book (you know, the Christmas one) is "Komika Text". I can't install the font here cuz you need to be a bureaucrat or admin to do so (you already know this, but I'm just making my point clear). Would you mind uploading this font onto the wiki? Thanks.

    • >The tagline color is #280f00, but it doesn't show on the dark BG.

OH, I thought TTGYG's back taglines colors followed the same format as the OG series, my bad. In that case, it's probably best not to color them at all.

      >Would you mind uploading this font onto the wiki?

The problem is, I can only install fonts that are available on Google Fonts. You would have to dig through all the fonts there and try to find one that resembles the Komika font.

        Loading editor
    • Then I'll stick to GYG, OG, HorrorLand and HoH (if fonts are available).

        Loading editor
    • Done with GYG (does it all look good?)

      EDIT: Love the homepage 👍

        Loading editor
    • Excellent work, keep it up! The font look-alike used for the latter GYG books looks very nice.

      (And ty.)

    • I found a font that looks similar to the font used at the back of the Triple Headers books. Yes, it's on Google Fonts. It's called 'Oranienbaum'. Would you mind uploading it here?

        Loading editor
    • Done.

      Thanks.

I finsihed formatting the Triple Header books, making their blurbs look as similar as possible to the physical prints'. Please check it out and tell me if I should change anything. Thanks.

    • Whoa... it looks way better than the font and style I had it as originally. The glowing text is a nice touch too... I'm impressed, very good.

        Loading editor
    • Thanks. I don't think I'll work on HorrorLand within the next 24 hours. Too tired.

        Loading editor
    • It's fine. You deserve the rest, lol.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, ONLY THE BEST.

        Loading editor
    • So far, there is no font on Google fonts that looks anywhere near VoodooHouse.

        Loading editor
    • I thought the back taglines for HorrorLand used different fonts for each book? For the first 12 books anyway.

        Loading editor
    • Yes, the fonts differ from one book to another, but we can't just leave Revenge if the Living Dummy as plain text and format the others. Should I call off the project, or do you have any suggestions?

        Loading editor
    • The only place I know of where you can import fonts for free is Google Fonts, and if you can't find the look alike fonts there, then you unfortunately might have to call of the project.

        Loading editor
    • I wasn't gonna give up, so after some research on font imports and all that, I found this [1], and it says there's a web import thingy option. I hope this works!

THIS LAST PART IS USELESS, BUT WHO CARES?

Also, I found the Series 2000 font and Shlop as well, and there's an 'add to webpage' or something like that option on Adobe Fonts.

        Loading editor
    • The "webfont" link just takes me to a download page... Idk why I would need to download something in order to get a font to load on a wiki. And Adobe Fonts says I gotta sign up or something. GBArt retiring sucks, because he's more knowledgeable than I am when it comes to stuff like this.

        Loading editor
    • No no, when you download it, there's a text document that has the @font stuff and all the import font stuff (.tff, etc.). You just need to download it first.
      20200416 162642

Here's the downloaded font thingy, it has all the urls

I'm sorry, I should've been clearer at the start.

And I'm also sorry for constantly messaging you about fonts, but GbA's gone, and I contacted StacyFan about it before, and he said he doesn't really know how to do that stuff. You're the only active admin who can do this. I promise I'll make a list of all the fonts (if we need more) next time, rather than messaging you every day :)

        Loading editor
    • I'm a bit stumped on how to incorporate it - I added just the codes but the font didn't show up. I asked the Wiki Manager about it, now we wait for a response.

        Loading editor
    • The Wiki Manager installed the font! She also got staff's approval on the ability to upload TFF files to the wiki, so we should be able to add a wide range of custom fonts now.

But yeah, send that list of fonts whenever you're done with it.

    • Horrorland and Hall of Horrors: Done!

      I think that's everything!

HOWEVER, you know that Survival Guide Horrorland thingy? I added the blurb on its page, and added the whole thing to the "List of Goosebumps Books" page. The blurb is formattted according to how it appears on the book. Would you mind checking it out?

        Loading editor
    • It's good. I also love the drop shadow effect you added to the taglines. Good job!

        Loading editor
    • Thanks! Anything else?

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, do Tales To Give You Goosebumps next. Make Still More Tale's tagline white so it looks good on the background. Also, I installed the Komika font, so you can use it now (put "KOMTXT_" to get it to appear).

So do you agree on me changing the BG?

        Loading editor
    • The background we have is fine, just make the tagline color white.

        Loading editor
    • White for all of them?

        Loading editor
    • Only for the really dark ones.

    • K. I'll do this on Sunday. Also, I really think the 'Break the Rules' page should be deleted. I mean, it wasn't exclusively made for Goosebumps, unlike 'The Bumps Gonna Goose Ya' for example. What's your thought on that?

        Loading editor
    • Deleted.

        Loading editor
    • Wow, that's all it took? Thx.

Wait, do Rollbacks have the right to delete pages?

    • Nope, only content moderators and admins.

      Dang it.

I have a question, just a random question for you (you know my brain functions by coming up with random questions):

Did you ever miss a badge because of Fandoms stupid timing system? I was going for the editing for the 100 days thingy once, but Fandom didn't count my 1am edit, so I got screwed. GbA also stole my LUCKY DUMMY once on a message wall, we pressed enter at the same time, but he got the badge. So yeah, please excuse my brain's randomness. If I were you, I wouldn't even respond to this message.

    • >Did you ever miss a badge because of Fandoms stupid timing system? I

      YEAH!

I lost the 60 days page sooooo many times. It hurts. ;'(

      >GbA also stole my LUCKY DUMMY once on a message wall, we pressed enter at the same time, but he got the badge

PFFFFT, GBArt's stolen the Lucky Dummy page from me a few times as well. That punk...

On the bright side, he made it up to me by drawing poorly made MS paint versions of the badge, which, tbh, might be better than having the real thing.

      Andygame

This ruined the word "punk" for me. Thanks a lot, Pixowl.

I agree, that design is... I don't even.

      >Am I authorized to do this?

Yeah, you're good. Respectfully confronting users about questionable edits is good.

Where? It's because I mostly use my phone for any edits that have nothing to do with formatting, or ones that don't really need a lot of work.

        Loading editor
    • Ok, done with Tales to Give You Goosebumps, but I didn't make the dark taglines white. It looked awful. Trust me. Instead, I used a slightly lighter variation of the original color of the tagline, and it worked! It looks good, it's readable, and I believe I'm done.

Lol, he's making joke. He's saying you should've put "improved" instead of "ruined".

      Nice!

And since you lost those badges, I decided to make one for you:

      Mikel&#039;s award badge

(By the way, that badge I lost wasn't really the 60 days badge, it was actually the 200 days badge. To quote you, my life hurts.)
