• (This was probably already announced somewhere on the wiki, but I can't seem to find any mentions so I thought I should bring it up.)

Netflix is kicking Goosebumps off stream in a few fateful days. We have until November 19. Say your prayers.

    • I don't believe it's been announced on this wiki, but it certainly has on the discord server. I agree this is bad news. :(

    • I recall hearing this. Odd choice. Does this have to do with the prospect Disney/Fox merger?

(Also, congratulations on editing for 100 days Cackles! At least there's some happy news.)

    • you know... towards the end of the nineties Fox bought back the rights to the Goosebumps TV show in the hope of rebooting the series but the plans fell through... (which is why the Slappy prop has disappeared from Stefaniuk Studios) and usually shows from Netflix are taken off due to licensing issues... so maybe, just maybe... Fox is thinking of trying something new... you never know...

      Congrats Cackles!

For some reason, I'm doubtful, but maybe.

    • Thanks both of you, yeah, this is pretty weird. I have no suggestions on what's causing this, but is Goosebumps available on any other steaming services, other than Netflix? This could be bad news for fans whose only access to the series is through Netflix (such as me). Hmm.

Not that I know of. However, the film is on Stan. There were DVD releases of all four seasons, but from memory, they might only be available in Australia. (Lucky me.) I suppose you could try getting some regular DVDs or try to find the season releases.

      >For some reason, I'm doubtful, but maybe.

I'm also very doubtful. It does seem like Goosebumps is just something that wouldn't be rebooted, but it does make sense when you consider some things like the fact that Goosebumps popularity is on the rise, and the two films were a huge success. And, it's now not uncommon for new children's films to receive spin-off television adaptions, (looking at examples like Home, Captain Underpants, The Boss Baby (small vomit noise) which have all surfaced on Netflix. And also, the fact that anthology series are now on the rise, with things like Black Mirror, a new reboot of The Twilight Zone (squeeee!) and now things like Creeped Out, which is a Netflix horror anthology directed at children, very similar to Goosebumps. And, television networks would probably consider a series of Stine origin, reflecting upon the success of R. L. Stine's The Haunting Hour series.

That was a fair bit to get through.

From what I can tell, it seems like it's dipping. The height was 1995-1998; interest resurfaced in 2005-2009; the 2015 film and 2018 film each made a relatively short spike (albeit, the second was considerably shorter).

I agree. No one talks about Goosebumps anymore in my country. I actually don't know any other Portuguese Goosebumps fans. I know some Fear Street fans, but none of them seems to like Goosebumps as much as me.

      Y O U T U B E ?

    • I'm not sure about YouTube. There may be a few episodes here and there, but it looks like just getting them on DVD may be the best alternative.

    • That would be more expensive. I'm not a huge fan of the TV series, and I don't have a Netflix account, so the few episodes I watched came from YouTube.

    • The YouTube uploads are pretty craptastic. I really like the DVDs, but it's your choice.

    • I don't think there are Goosebumps DVDs where I live; I would have to order them from the US or something like that.

Edit: Lol, I wasn't expecting a Lucky Dummy badge. Although I didn't choose to win the badge, I apologize to all of you who have been more active lately...
