    • So nice to hear that there are 6 more Goosebumps books coming "soon". I hope it's a new series. What a relief, anyway. I wonder if there will be more Return to Fear Street titles.

BTW, I feel really dumb for asking this, but what's a posthumous book? Stine says in the end that some of his upcoming Goosebumps books will probably be posthumous. I looked that word up on Google but I can't seem to find anything useful (and Google Translate is not helpful at all, lol). Looking at the word, it probably came from Latin, but there isn't any similar Portuguese words. Is it like a sequel or something? Please help me, guys. :((

    • Posthumous essentially means "after death." So, Heath Ledger won an Academy Award posthumously, he won it for The Dark Knight after he died. So Stine's saying that some books will be published after he dies which is... pretty depressing.

It's not dumb at all, it's totally fine.

    • "I just signed on to do six more Goosebumps books. Maybe some of them will be posthumous, I don’t know."

      Holy moly, that's sad!

Is his health bad, or is this just a bit of dark humor? He's only 74, after all. But, then again, genetics is a huge factor.

He seems pretty chipper, and I feel like he would make health problems known. He is known for dark humour, but that doesn't quite feel like a joke... and if he says he writes four books a year and six are coming... does he expect to be gone in a year and a half??

      This is getting very real...

Wooah.. that's really sad. But thanks anyway for explaining :)

      >does he expect to be gone in a year and a half??

What.... man, you're right, I'm getting kinda scared and depressed...

    • Stine saying some books might be released poshumously is him saying he's never really gonna quit making more books. He's never gonna retire if he has any say in the matter.

I don't think we should see this as him saying he's losing his health or anything just yet.

I don't know. I agree with GbA, this might be just dark humour. I said it was depressing because we have to admit that Stine is getting older and sooner or later he is gonna stop writing. I hope he's not sick, anyway.

    • My point was that Stine just said he's signed up for six more books while Dimensionshark is making the conclusion that that means those will be the last things Stine will do in terms of Goosebumps books all of a sudden. It's not. It just means that's what they've cleared off for his schedule and the publisher's schedule so far.

When they're halfway through that, Stine will probably get signed up for more. It's how release and work schedules go.

Stine's not gonna be with us forever, but I wouldn't want to make predictions about how long he's gonna be with us just yet unless Stine says otherwise.

There is no evidence that those six books will be the last, but there's not any proof that they will. I'm not saying that Stine will pass away too soon, that's a crazy and really stupid thing to say. He surely wouldn't like to see people trying to guess he's gonna be here. The reason why I think there won't be too many GB books after those six is because it's really hard to write over 200 books of the same franchise, so, naturally he wouldn't be able to come up with many more ideas for new stories. Stine has got a wild brain, though. Well, let's all wait and see what's coming next.
