The students of Romero Academy are the main antagonists of the fourth book in the Goosebumps House of Shivers book series, Why I Quit Zombie School.
History[]
When Matt Krinsky attends the boarding school Romero Academy, he begins to notice that everyone in the school are strange. From their movements, to their pupil-less eyes to other bizarre incidents, it's as if they're actually undead. Even stranger is that the students head up to the balcony of the center hallway and dive off to the floor below. Matt soon learns from a girl named Franny Roth that Matt was actually enrolled in a school for zombies and that he must pass the test of falling off the balcony to prove that he's a zombie as well. He manages to evade being thrown off by showing the students a fake hand that he claims is his. They send Matt into a place called the Reviver Room, run by a man known as The Reviver. Matt is strapped to a device which will reform zombies who have lost body parts, but the power fails on the machine, allowing Matt to claim that he's actually been brought back to life, which forces him to be expelled from Romero Academy.
General information[]
The zombie students seem to act like normal children, only they're undead. As such they often do things like jump off the balcony and eat food whole, bones and all. They aren't concerned about the consequences of injury as their bodies are revived by the reviving machine controlled by The Reviver. Their only concern is having living humans attend the academy, which becomes a major issue for Matt.
