The Awesome Ants are the main antagonists of the sixth story from Still More Tales To Give You Goosebumps, "Awesome Ants" as well as its television adaptation.

History[]

Awesome Ants (short story)[]

The Awesome Ants are seemingly normal ants that arrive with the Super Jumbo Awesome Ant Farm in a white plastic container. The only thing off about them at first is the instructions to only feed them 5 gel caps a day and nothing else. The ants stay normal until fed other food which causes them to slowly grow bigger and bigger. When fed too much other food, the ants grow large enough to take humans and trap them in a massive ant farm.

Awesome Ants (tv episode)[]

The Awesome Ants are seemingly normal ants that are purchased by Dave Warren. The ants arrive with the Mega Deluxe Model A Ant Farm in a glass jar. At first, the only thing off is the instruction to only feed them one pellet per day and nothing else. After being fed other foods, the ants rapidly grow great strength and size being able to break through the lock on the ant farm, a cinder block, and a sturdier lock. The ants presumably kill or enslave all of humanity until it is revealed that this universe was a dream. It is also revealed that the ants have always been this size causing them to be the dominant species.

Trivia[]

The giant ant prop used in the episode would later be repurposed in the episode "Deep Trouble".
The sound the ants make in the episode is an elephant's trumpet likely pitched and slowed down.
