Shepherd "Shep" Mooney is the protagonist of the seventh book in the Goosebumps SlappyWorld book series, The Ghost of Slappy. He is a previous owner of Slappy.
History[]
Shep is a kid who is constantly paranoid. This mainly having to do with a ghost in his basement named Annalee. One night, Shep and his class go camping with their teacher Mr. Hanson, who brought along a ventriloquist dummy that he found in his grandfather's attic. That dummy being Slappy. Slappy begins to run wild and scare the campers, leaving everyone freaked out, including Shep. When he returns home, he finds Slappy in his bag and realizes that his former friend turned bully Trevor Pinkus was the one scaring everyone with Slappy and put the dummy in Shep's bag. His younger sister Patti ends up reading the magic words which bring Slappy to life. After Slappy gets Shep in trouble, Shep is ready to get rid of the dummy. He then follows Slappy to the nearby cemetery and the two fight with one another until both fall into an open grave, Shep breaking Slappy in the process.
Soon Shep begins to see Slappy everywhere, but whenever he tries to grab the dummy, he can't, as this is Slappy's ghost. Slappy promises that now that he's a ghost, he'll haunt Shep forever. That night, after being scared by Slappy, Shep tries to grab him again, only to fall out of his window and onto his roof. At his friend Carlos' birthday party, Shep goes horseback riding, only for Slappy to scare the horse and cause mayhem. Tired of this, Shep finds Slappy's body and glues it back together, which causes his ghost to return to his body. Slappy attacks Shep when Annalee shows up, saying she'll do a good deed. That deed being ripping up the magic words paper. Since Shep constantly told Annalee to go away, she would rather give Slappy something nice instead. Annalee disappears as Slappy continues to attack Shep.
