Nathan Bratt is a main character in Goosebumps. He is portrayed by Justin Long.

History[]

Nathan Bratt formerly served as a biology teacher, but was fired for being off topic to his respective subject and was soon to be evicted from his home by his landlord. Nathan pleads to his landlord to give him three more days to earn in order to pay for his home though just as Nathan is excited, his pet dog Fifi is killed by an oncoming vehicle once unsupervised. Nathan is later informed that he's inherited the Biddle House from his great grandfather and later moves into the home six months later in Port Lawrence.

Just as he was moving into the Biddle House, he sliced his hand attempting to pry open the basement door and left the house to get stitches. Biddle returns to his home to find that multiple teenagers have started a party within his home and he threatened to call the police to scare them off. The following day, Nathan located Isaiah Howard, the student responsible for hosting the party, and returned the backpack he had left in the house the previous night. The two agreed to never acknowledge the party happened as long as Isaiah informed everyone else his home was now occupied and not open to social events.[1]

Bratt woke up on the floor of his house and was startled to see it was Monday. He raced over to the high school, but had trouble controlling his body. He stumbled into a bathroom and looked in the mirror. He saw Harold Biddle looking back at him and Harold took full control of his body. As Bratt, Harold confronted Isaiah in the locker room and then Nora at the coffee shop, leaving them both unsettled. Then he watched as Isabella Chen-Lopez dropped the haunted mask into the water.[2]

Bratt remained possessed by Biddle as he continued to get his revenge on his tormentors by attacking their children.[3]

Under Biddle's influence, Bratt used up all his sick days and then tried to take a mental health day, saying he wasn't feeling like himself and felt that he shouldn't have to teach like that. He then followed Lucas Parker after noticing Lucas had one of Slappy's eyes, which he eventually retrieved from the sawmill.[4]

After learning that Margot was Sarah's daughter, Bratt, under Biddle's influence, gave her a scrapbook that allowed her to see the memories of the events surrounding his death. When Margot and her friends came to the house to save Margot from the book, they saw their parents indirectly killing Harold and taking a case out of the house. When Isaiah said he wanted to know what was inside the case, Bratt appeared and invited them to come inside so he could tell them all about it.[5]

Bratt told the teens the story of Slappy the Dummy and Ephraim Bratt, emphasizing that their parents were murderers and had bullied Harold even as they realized that wasn't true. When he finished, they asked how he knew all this and told them it was because he was Harold.[6]
