You've written a lot of reviews for the Goosebumps series, and it might be possible for me to adapt some of those into plot summaries for our wiki. Do you think that would be alright?
Currently, a lot of the plot sections on this wiki were stolen from other sources; articles where this occurred feature a template warning users that the section was stolen. If you gave your permission to let us adapt some of your summaries, we could probably replace a lot of the theft, and we wouldn't need to use the template.
Hey there! My name is Mandy, and I’m the Fandom Wiki Manager assigned to the Goosebumps Wiki. No worries, I am not here to take over. My job is to help the community and serve as a liaison between contributors and full-time Fandom staff. I will be your primary point of contact should any assistance be needed, so if you ever have a question or issue relating to the wiki, editing, etc., don't hesitate to leave a message on my wall and I will do my best to help. If I am unable to solve your issue, I will be able to get in contact with a staff member that can. I will also be getting in contact with the rest of the active admins in this community to introduce myself and inform them of my position. In the meantime, please let me know if there's anything I can do for you or if you have any further questions regarding my role, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Looking forward to working with you in the future!
Yep. Also, we talked a bit further over email and I asked her about her ghosts of fear street work and she said she can't legally say anything" about them. So that's interesting. Either way, she was nice to talk to.
Interestingly enough, I kinda emailed Carolyn Crimi (the Fun with Spelling writer) to ask hr about that one and she told me a bit about the Ghost work (apparently she submitted a book to the publisher, unaware they did not publish original novels so to make up for it they asked her to come up with some book summaries for Ghosts, and soon they "asked for a few more things, perhaps, like sample chapters" until finally being hired to write a couple full books) but avoided my GB query, and I did reply asking (hopefully nicely) for more on that but got no reply yet, weird.
She's likely mistaken or perhaps it's true and Crimi was breaking the rules or something. But again that would be odd as they are credited, unlike the GB stories.
Actually, the way this convo went was I asked about them, she said she didn't recall doing them and then I showed her the google preview for the Night of the Werecat ebook to help possibly refresh her memory, then she said "Let me put it this way. I can't legally say anything about this book. But I do remember it.". This doesn't matter but still worth noting.
I could have pressed further but I didn't feel like I'm prying too hard and it doesn't matter too much anyway, I got what I wanted.
Question: Since you're technically a bureaucrat admin, could you make me a bureaucrat admin as well?
Goddy — the other bureaucrat admin — was hesitant to promote me in the past. I guess he liked being the lead decision maker, which I can't blame him for. But he's been inactive for so long... It'd be nice if I had full bureaucrat status.
Hey! Just in case you don't know, I'm excited to inform you that Fandom now has an official Discord server for Fandom and Gamepedia editors! If you're interested in joining, you can learn more about it in this blog post. Ultimately, the server allows for better communication with staff and fellow editors, and I will be easily accessible there if you ever need any help. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!
There's a vandal called "Freeeze007" and he/she's been removing all info from several pages, when he/she first started, I reversed the vandalism, but it's gone too far now. I contacted GbA on Gmail and the wiki page and he isn't responding, and I'm afraid he/she might ruin this entire wiki!
Yeah, I'm going to have to dig to find it again. I feel like it somewhere on The Bumps but thankfully Neal does have a contact page on his website, so I'll just hit him up there and hopefully that will be quicker.
Hi! I'm here to bring you big news from Fandom! The new Analytics feature has just been released for admins, which you can read more about in this blog post. This feature is particularly exciting because it will give you access to insightful statistics that allow you to see what areas are doing well and how to best capitalize on them in order to strengthen the community. You can visit Special:Analytics to access the data, and if you need any help, you can check out the help page for additional information. Please let me know if you have any further questions or feedback and I'll be happy to answer :)
A lot of the summaries you've written consist of three-sentence-paragraphs, which (in my opinion, at least) looks a bit big and messy. It makes the plot section look unkempt. Can you fix the spacing in some of your synopses? Having around six sentences to a paragraph would look a lot more clean.
I tried my hand at fixing a few, such as the Son of Slappy, Werewolf in the Living Room, and It's Alive ones. I do fear I may have made some of the paragraphs a tad too long but honestly long paragraphs in general are harder for my brain process for some reason so I guess someone else has to be the judge.
