  • Your summary was too long. From our rules,

The typical length for the summary of a Goosebumps book should be between 4,000 characters and 8,000 characters. Use a website such as WordCounter.net to make sure you didn't write too much!

Usually, we prefer summaries on the shorter end. (Plus, I'm thinking about reducing those numbers...) Your synopsis was more than 10,000 characters long. I don't want to out-and-out remove the summary, but you should really cut its length in half. Summaries don't usually contain quotes of dialogue or cliffhangers.

    • Got it down to 6,492 characters. Good enough?

  • Hey buddy,

I've noticed a few of your edits have had the same grammatical issue, so I wanted to point out a rule to you. Every sentence must have a verb. "As well as another brush, sticking out the closet door shutters, dripping paint," is not a sentence. Verbs are words that denote action. Just think that something has to be happening in every sentence.

What you're doing is creating sentence fragments. Just be careful when you break up sentences, and ensure that all parts of the sentence you break up has a verb.

You're doing really good work here, and I just wanted to help improve your quality of work in some parts. Please let me know if I can help you with this further or explain it better.

    Thanks!

    -Todd

    • > U r creeping me out A LOT because u keep ending all ur messages with a smiley face.

I smile a lot in real life. If I'm smiling when I write something, I add a :).

    • Oh ok...my brother works as a full-time smiler...

He wakes up ( smiling )

He goes to school ( smiling )

He leaves home ( smiling )

He eats his lunch ( smiling )

He buried his dead pet turtle ( smiling?!?!? )

He brushes his teeth ( smili- hold on, isnt that everyone? )

He goes to sleep ( smiling )

He... you get the picture, right?

My advice to anyone who smiles 24/7:

STOP SMILING OR YOU'LL LOOK LIKE THIS GUY:

  • Two quick things:

    1. Adding images to character subpages could work, but the formatting you used didn't look quite right in some browsers. Give we a bit of time to come up with some cleaner formatting.
    2. Character subpages only need one category, a rule mentioned here.

    • I have an idea for adding images on character subpages...

we could add a gallery at the bottom and write the character name as a caption.

      Tell me what u think.

    • We actually tried that for a bit, and it didn't work. I think the images should be in the table (if anywhere). I just want to make sure it looks correct before we start implementing it.

  • Even if you think you're helping clean up grammar or whatever, you really shouldn't be editing other user's profiles.

  • Your page for the Fright Light editon has been deleted. It wasn't bad, it was just mostly repeating information that could be found here. Still, thank you for your readiness to contribute.

  • There was a mistake on the Goosebumps Graphix page for the book Slappy's Tales if Horror, it was listed to have been published in July 2007, while it was actually published in August 2015. I just edited it!
