  • Hello. Haven't talked in awhile, how's it been? I took a little bit of a break from editting. (Aside from the daily edit to get that coveted badge.) I began planning how I'm gonna approach this. So I'm working on a system that devides 12 major scenes from the episodes into the gallery with a caption explaining each scene. The reason for it being 12 is so that the gallery is nice and even, since the gallery system is ordered by rows of 3. The first photo will be the first scene that sets up everything. Example: Carly Beth and Sabrina discover the Novelty Shop in The Haunted Mask, Amy receives Slappy in Night of the Living Dummy II, etc. The next half a dozen photos will the be build up to where the protagonist discovers what's really going on in the story. Example: Build up to Carly Beth discovering the mask is evil, Amy realizing Slappy is alive, etc. The next few is the climax of the story. Doesn't really need any examples for that one. The last photo will be the ending twist of the story. Example: Noah puts on the Haunted Mask, The Kramer's discover that Dennis is alive, etc. How do you feel about this system?

    • Wait a minute, nevermind. You're just talking about the, "Scenes" section. I could add the sections back in once I start working on the project.

    • If you want to link something to a certain page, please create the page first; otherwise, it could lead to several misunderstandings. I don't read the IDW comics, so I don't know anything about that character. Feel free to create a page, as long as the character deserves one.

Someone is inevitably going to add Gary Lutz, Audra/Spencer, and Nat Wald. It's only a matter of time.

    • Odd. Maybe Fandom has some feature to prevent edit warring (in this instance, multiple users opening and closing a thread). I'll close it for you, since I still can.

  • I am trying to create a new page. I've made many new pages in the past, and have always worked from a visual editor. When I click Add Page now, though, it makes me work with Fandom's coding. How do I get to the visual editor? How do I add a character sidebox in the Fandom editor? (I know how to do it from the visual editor.)

    • It's stupid of me to ask, but did you hit apply changes once you changed your preferences? I forget to do that all the time.

    • How about you create the page and publish it as an empty one, then go back and edit using the visual editor?

  • Hey! I was reading your comment on Retro's post about people buying physical books and not reading them, keeping them from people who might want to read them. I think most of the series is available digitally now. I have all of the original 62 on my kindle except for Mask of the Mutant which has not shown up yet. I'm going to have to read it physically. I thought about hitting up thrift stores, but decided to support the author and publisher so Stine will keep working. The books were like $4. It wasn't bad. I bought all of them, Fear Street, and Animorphs digitally.

    • Hi. I DID have all the GB ebooks (except for The Haunter and some Series 2000 ones). You buy the ebooks. That's legal. I... am less legal. I've read most of the books as ebooks before even starting my collection, but I always prefer a physical copy. I don't just collect books and have them sit there. The particular person I was alluding to is the guy who runs the ZakBabyTV channel. He has a MASSIVE collection, but does he really need all those duplicates and reprints? At the end of the day, a book is still a book with one purpose: to be read. What irks me more is that he buys the original print and every other reprint. In a couple of videos, he mentioned not reading a lot of the books he has (and he doesn't plan to).

I have a few duplicates too, but I plan on selling them at some point. They're usually the result of me buying a book, then getting a boxed set which includes that book later on. Ok, I think I'm deviating from the original point...

In conclusion, I only buy the GB books I'm interested in, which is why I'm avoiding series like GB Presents and the IDW comics. If an ebook or an audiobook is available (for free on TOTALLY legal sites), I'd go for that then find myself a physical copy later. My response is so messed up, I don't even think it's related to your message.

TL:DR: I'm a collector, but I read the books I collect (several times).

  • Slappy clearly served as the lesser of two evils in that book. The trivia section on that page lampshades he's an anti-hero in that book. The kdis bring him alive to stop Arrogoutus and he attempts to do so with the kids helping him through the fight. The villains wiki and tv tropes call him an anti-hero in that book.

  • Hey, I wanted to clarify my edit to the Go Eat Worms TV page. I just read the book and watched the episode today- the underground cave part was all new. In the book, he starts to get pulled in the crack in the field, and like the show, is saved by his sister carrying her bird. In the book, he never promises to not harm worms as well. As a side note, thought I enjoyed this more as a kid, but boy, what a stinker.

    • If you're talking about where Todd was attacked, then I think this should be a separate bullet point, or a sub point that falls beneath the one about the giant worm.

    • That's one point, yes. But in the book, he never makes a promise, and that was half of the post. Figured I'd make the correction since it was fresh in my mind.
