Judy Glassman is the main protagonist of the fifteenth book in the Goosebumps Slappyworld book series, Judy and the Beast.
History[]
Judy lives with her father Noah and older brother Ira in the town of Sulphur Falls, Wyoming. Her mother moved to England a few years prior. Every spring, Judy 's father and brother head atop Black Rock to work for Baker Grendel and his wife Hilda while Judy's stuck at home. On the next trip up to the Grendel mansion, Judy sneaks a ride up and due to being unable to be sent home, she sticks around, much to the annoyance of Ira, who considers this something he does alone with his father. While exploring the mansion, Judy meets Baker Grendel, a large, eccentric man who likes to eat a lot of food. As Judy starts to settle in, she soon starts to see strange beasts outside.
At first, Judy suspects that the beast must be Baker, or possibly the family dog, Aurora. However, upon finding a cabin in the forest, Judy soon discovers the belongings of a teenage boy. She soon runs into another boy who tries to get rid of her despite not answering her questions as to what's going on. She soon finds another boy when she returns to the cabin. After an encounter with the beast that almost turns deadly, Judy soon learns her father and Ira left without her. But when she finds her family, she learns that the beast she was seeing wasn't Baker, but Ira.
Ira, along with the other two boys, are brought up to Black Rock every spring to get treatments for a "beast disease" that turns them into monsters. Baker mentions that usually the disease only starts to affect people when they turn thirteen, which Judy is about to turn. As they talk, Judy soon sees she's growing fur.
