Joseph Richard Brotherhood Fria is an actor and director. He provides the voice of Slappy the Dummy for the Goosebumps SlappyWorld audiobook series.
History[]
Joe Fria started acting in 2002 not long after gaining his BFA in Musical Theater from Carnegie Mellon University. He would feature mostly in bit and background parts. He also featured in a few roles including Oblo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as well as the voice of Makoto Hyuga in the Neon Genesis Evangelion movies.
In 2017, Joe Fria would be cast as the voice of Slappy for the Goosebumps SlappyWorld audiobooks, starting with the first book in the series, Slappy Birthday to You. Since then he has voiced Slappy for every subsequent book in the series.
Trivia[]
- Due to voicing Slappy in every single SlappyWorld audiobook, Joe Fria has voiced Slappy for more projects than any of the character's prior voice actors.
- While he's voiced Slappy in every SlappyWorld book, most of the audiobooks would still have their own narrators. However, Joe Fria would serve as the lone narrator for Diary of a Dummy and Slappy, Beware! (though R.L. Stine added an introduction).
