Jesse is the tertiary antagonist of Scariest Book Ever.

Overview[]

Jesse is the henchwoman and possible daughter of The Bookworm. She has accompanied him to the Wayward Forest to obtain the Scariest Book Ever, a book that would unleash evil unto the world if it were ever opened or destroyed. The Bookworm wants the book in his possession so he can have the most valuable book collection in the world. The Bookworm and Jesse have overpowered Uncle Wendell and The Collector, tying up the former in the attic and locking the latter up in a shed.

When twins Betty and Billy Arnold arrive at Uncle Wendell's house, The Bookworm passes himself off as Uncle Wendell, while Jesse passes herself off as Betty and Billy's cousin. Jesse and The Bookworm inform the twins about the Scariest Book Ever and tell them that a book thief has come and stolen the book, which is a ruse to get the twins out of the house so The Bookworm and Jesse can send the twins into the Wayward Forest to search for the book thief and The Bookworm and Jesse can try to search for the book while the twins are out in the forest. When the twins return to the house and release The Collector from the shed, The Bookworm and Jesse appear and try to force The Collector (whom they mistake for the real Uncle Wendell) to hand over the book, eventually locking him and the twins up in a safe so they can have them out of the way while they search the house.

The Collector and the twins escape the safe and return to the forest to continue looking for the book. Soon after their escape, the real Uncle Wendell escapes the attic and ties up The Bookworm and Jesse before leaving to search for the kids. The Bookworm and Jesse are not seen for the rest of the story and are presumably turned into the authorities along with The Collector after he, Uncle Wendell and the twins return with the book.

Personality[]

Jesse seems like a kind woman at first, but she is later revealed to be a ruthless and malicious individual who is willing to threaten others with her flamethrower to get what she and The Bookworm want. She has a twisted sense of humor, joking about having a barbecue while threatening The Collector with her flamethrower. She does have some morals however, telling The Bookworm not to hurt Betty and Billy.

Appearance[]

Jesse is described as a young woman in a pale blue sweater pulled over black tights
