Jenna is a genie who appears in the thirteenth Give Yourself Goosebumps, Scream of the Evil Genie. She also briefly reappears in the twenty-seventh book in the same series, Checkout Time at the Dead-End Hotel.
Scream of the Evil Genie
Jenna is a genie that the readers can find in a cola can. She agrees to grant the readers three wishes, but she somewhat jokingly says that she doesn't clean windows and unironically says that she won't grant violent wishes. In most of this book's storylines, Jenna ends up granting wishes that harm the reader.
In one storyline, Jenna turns into a giant monster and refuses to grant the readers' wishes unless they can take her ring from her. In another storyline, Jenna takes the place of the readers' mother, which traps the readers' mother in a soda can. If the reader chooses to open the soda can that their mother is in, they unintentionally kill Jenna. In one ending, the reader wishes that Jenna was a human with no magic powers; the reader is sent back to their original home and everything seemingly returns to normal.
Checkout Time at the Dead-End Hotel
In one ending of this book, Jenna appears to the reader and insists that they are in the wrong book, saying that they should be in Scream of the Evil Genie. The reader's friend wishes to be in that book, and the reader is transported there. This ending is presented as good.
Depending on the reader's decisions, Jenna's alignment ranges between good and deliberately evil. Typically, Jenna acts in a tough and nonchalant manner.
In her initial form, Jenna has spiky red-and-purple hair. She wears a fuzzy short black sweater, black combat boots, five earrings, and baggy blue jeans. In the cover illustration, Jenna has red eyes.
When Jenna transforms into a more monstrous version of herself, her appearance changes. Her hair is more spiky, and she wears all leather. Her eyes also appear more yellow and cat-like.
