Here Comes The Shaggedy is the ninth book in the Goosebumps Most Wanted book series.

Plot

The infamous, Most Wanted Goosebumps characters are out on the loose and after you. Kelli and Shawn Anderson are not excited about having to move to another state - especially because their new home is directly next to a giant swamp. But their dad is a scientist and he's going down there to study the local flora and fauna. Unfortunately for Kelli and Shawn, there seem to be some very strange creatures that live around their house. They keep hearing about the legend of the Shaggedy (Swamp Monster), an ancient beast that lives far below the surface of the swamp and can cause a whole lot of damage. Can Kelli and Shawn convince their dad to move back home before it is too late?

Trivia

  • Shaggedy, the monster mentioned in the book and pictured in the cover, resembles the Swamp Monster from the book How to Kill a Monster where both of them are creatures with a gorilla body and an alligator head. Here, the Shaggedy has some green scales and brown fur.
  • Elements from The Werewolf of Fever Swamp are used.
  • This is the second book to feature a swamp monster, the first being How to Kill a Monster (but not a direct sequel).
  • The book mentions about many Swamp Monsters (they come with different shapes), Shaggedy is one of the legendary Swamp Monsters (and is quite unique, because it can be summoned).
  • The method of calling Shaggedy involves using animal blood (like a cult ritual), which makes this one of the few Goosebumps books with dark themes.
