The Ghost Couple is a duo of characters appearing in both the book from Tales to Give You Goosebumps and the television episode "The House of No Return".

Past[]
Originally, the couple's husband had built an entire house so that he and his wife could raise their child. However, he had made a mistake during the construction, and they lost their child when she fell through the floor of the house to her death. The grief from this tragedy slowly drove the couple mad for several months. At one point, authorities came to their house, only to find the couple dead and they took their bodies away, with the house sealed up. According to Danger Inc., a few days after their deaths, the children of the neighborhood began to disappear, and they presume that the ghosts of the couple abducted them.
The House of No Return[]
While it's unclear whether the couple are haunting the house at first, this is confirmed when Chris Wakely is locked in by the trio of bullies. First, he hears a lot of noises upstairs as if someone is moving. Then he was locked up when someone invisible barricaded the door with a wooden plank. Then he hears voices saying they are coming for him, causing him to scream in fear. The ghost couple physically appear upon arrival from the Danger Club to the haunted house. Glad to see them, they explain to the trio that Chris left after making a deal with them: if they let him go, three children would take his place. Horrified, the trio ask if they can leave but the couple say no and that they will love them forever as they approach them threateningly. It is likely that the ghost couple killed all three children although this is not confirmed in the book or episode.
Personality[]
During their lifetime, the couple were jovial, happy and caring. They were devastated by the death of their child, gradually driving them mad and causing their deaths in some unknown way. As ghosts, they grew ghoulish and obsessed with having children again to replace the one they lost, trapping those who entered their old home like they did with Chris (even though they let him go) and the Danger Club.

- Their past story is only told in the episode, while in the book, the Ghost Couple is only identified and only appears at the end to welcome the Danger Club.
- Chris Britton (portrayer of the Ghost of a Man) is a well known voice actor. He is best known for doing the voice of Mister Sinister in the 90s X-Men: The animated series. He also reprised the role in the continuation series: X-Men '97. As well as voicing Starswirl the Bearded in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
