Garrison Blake is a character in the thirty-eighth Goosebumps book, The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena. He is the father of Jordan and Nicole Blake.

History[]

Garrison Blake is a professional photographer, mainly specializing in capturing pictures of nature and wildlife. Living in the city of Pasadena, California with his son, Jordan, and daughter, Nicole, Blake is often called out of state on assignments. His latest job turns out to be his most dangerous, as he's summoned to Alaska on a hunt for the Abominable Snowman, an elusive creature recently sighted by the locals. Forced to take Jordan and Nicole with him, Blake arrives in Alaska in the hopes of photographing the Abominable Snowman. However, he himself believes the story to be a myth.

During their trip, the Blakes are guided by Arthur Maxwell, a gruff but superstitious man who is reluctant to reveal all he knows about the legends. Eventually, Jordan and Nicole come face to face with the Abominable Snowman, discovering the creature frozen solid in a cave. The monster awakes and chases after the two, but they are able to subdue him, and he reverts to his frozen state.

When Blake is shown Jordan and Nicole's discovery he is amazed. He snaps several photos of the frozen creature, before getting the idea to bring it back home to Pasadena so it can be studied. However, upon their arrival back, Jordan accidentally sets the Snowman free, and it retreats to the mountains surrounding Pasadena.

Disappointed but glad his kids are safe, Blake hopes his pictures will be enough to prove that the Abominable Snowman really exists. However, he is surprised to find the photos are completely devoid of any creature, meaning nobody will believe the Blake's story.
