Escape from Shudder Mansion is the fifth book in the Goosebumps SlappyWorld book series.

Riley Shiner is obsessed with Escape from Shudder Mansion, a video game that is based on a really spooky house in his neighborhood. He's played it so much he knows it by heart, which is why he won't go anywhere near the actual place—it's just too dangerous. There are shadows that creep around inside. And then there's the level Riley can't ever beat. It features the worst creature of all! Riley is about to find out that you don't always play this game. Sometimes it plays you!

Plot

Riley and scarlet shiner are heading to scarlet’s guitar lesson when Riley has a hallucination then he sees a cat turn into a shadow then they see a strange girl who says her name is Mia Riley then suspects something weird about Mia then the duo go to scarlet’s guitar lesson

Then when Riley plays escape from shudder mansion he notices Mia in the game and the cat too then he questions what is Happening


Slappy then tells the reader things are going to get stranger...


At class Riley’s teacher assigns the class to have an adventure she assigns Riley,scarlet,Carter,Cheng,and Danita to Spend the night (with their parents) at shudder mansion

Then the gang explore the place meanwhile riley has a run in with a skeleton he then manages to escape then he finds Two skeleton fingers in his palm

Slappy then interrupts saying that Riley is confused

After the gang get settled in (with their parents) they eventually get chased and trapped by shadow monsters (including Mia) who want to get them killed in death at shudder mansion fortunately Riley finds and hits a reset button starting The whole night over again

Slappy then ends story saying that the night will start over forever

  • Slappy interrupted 3 times in the story.or 4 if you count the intro
  • The title of this book starts with the words "Escape from"; this phrase is incredibly common in the Goosebumps franchise, and it has appeared in the titles of many books. The first book to bear this title was the Give Yourself Goosebumps book Escape from the Carnival of Horrors.
  • Riley and Scarlett are forced to visit a haunted house in order to complete an assignment for school. This scenario is similar to the one Sammy Baker must face in the Goosebumps Most Wanted book, The Haunter.
  • The pre-release version of the cover is missing the glass shards on the floor.
