Character	Medium	Description
Slappy the Dummy	Book	Slappy is an evil ventriloquist dummy carved out of the wood of a cursed coffin. He comes to life when someone reads out the words “Karru Marri Odonna Loma Molonu Karrano”. He narrates the introduction and epilogue of this book. Aside from that, he doesn’t appear in the story, not interfering with the characters.
Riley Shiner	Book	The main protagonist of the book. He is twelve, short and chubby with dark brown hair and eyes.
Scarlet Shiner	Book	Riley’s older sister, by about twelve minutes. She’s taller and thinner than Riley, and has wavy red hair and blue eyes.
Mia	Book	A pale pretty girl with blond hair and dark eyes. She is short and very thin, wearing a white top and blue skirt. She is the Beast’s daughter.
Carter Burwasser	Book	An annoying boy in Riley and Scarlet’s class. He is blond and very pink, and likes to brag and snob.
Mrs. Blume	Book	Riley and Scarlet’s teacher. She sends them on the assignment to Shudder Mansion.
Cheng Lee	Book	A quiet, shy kid who looks younger than he is. He accompanies Riley and Scarlet to Shudder Mansion.
Danitia	Book	A friend of Scarlet, who accompanies her to Shudder Mansion.
The Dancing Skeleton	Book	A living skeleton who lives at Shudder Mansion. He initially seems harmless, but if you watch him for too long he will attack you and crush your bones.
The Beast	Book	The main antagonist. Sometimes human, sometimes an enormous, roaring animal.
Margo	Book	The Beast’s wife, and Mia’s mother. Although she looks small and frail, she has amazing powers of strength, able to rip off your arm or break your leg.
