Eric Affabee is an unlockable character in Goosebumps HorrorTown who appears in the Horrific Anniversary event of the game. He is based on R.L. Stine, the author of the Goosebumps franchise.

Eric Affabee appears to be a large stocky man whose face is obscured in the dark with the only thing visible is his glasses which shine white. He wears a black suit and a black fedora.

Trivia

• Eric Affabee is the third fictional incarnation of R.L. Stine in the Goosebumps franchise, with the first being the mysterious figure in the opening intro of the Goosebumps television series and the second being Mr. Shivers from the Goosebumps film and Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. As such, Eric also contains multiple elements from those previous versions as well as the real R.L. Stine himself.
  • His appearance is based on the mysterious figure, R.L. Stine, in the intro of the original television series as well as his animation "Releasing the Monsters" which references the scene in the intro where Stine's briefcase unlocks and spills multiple pages.
  • Eric Affabee is said to be the creator of all the monsters in the game, a concept previously used for the film series' version of R.L. Stine.
  • Eric's animation "A Happy Guy" is a reference to the skit R.L. Stine Is A Happy Guy, in which Stine holds yellow colored balloons with smiley face designs on them.
  • Eric also writes via typewriting, which the real R.L. Stine uses to write his books.
  • The name "Eric Affabee" was also a pen name used by Stine early in his career
