Eric is the main protagonist of the second More Tales to Give You Goosebumps story, "Something Fishy".
History[]
Every summer, Eric's family usually goes rents a house on the lake. But this year, they can't afford it after things went wrong following Eric's mother getting divorced. This means he has to stay in their apartment all summer. One day, Eric is at home looking at his fish tank. When he sticks his finger in the tank, it somehow shrinks him to the size of an ant and he falls in the water. He swims in the tank for a while until one of his goldfish attacks him. As Eric tries to survive, he ends up killing the fish. When his mom and sister Sarah arrive, they see the dead fish and scoop it up, and Eric as well. Before he's flushed down the toilet, suddenly the effects wear off and Eric returns to his normal size. Eric decides to go back in the tank, but just as he shrinks back into the water, he sees his mom put a pair of Siamese Fighting Fish in tank.
