Ephraim Bratt is a minor character in Goosebumps: The Vanishing. He is portrayed by Eddie Jemison.
History[]
In 1925, Ephraim was a failing magician until he took all his money and used it to buy Slappy the Dummy, hoping to start over with a new act. He was shocked when in his debut, Slappy spoke on his own. However, the act proved to be successful and Ephraim began selling out performance venues. As he got close to Slappy, he spent less team with family, eventually choosing Sloppy over his wife and child.
By 1950, though, his success had started to wane and in 1960, Slappy persuaded him to turn a venue owner into a dummy with a spell when that owner suggested hiring an opening act to go with them. Soon after this, Ephraim paid a gravedigger to rob a mausoleum. Despite his reservations, Slappy tried to get him to stick to the plan. Ephraim resisted and put Slappy in his case. Then he move to Port Lawrence.
When Ephraim reached his final days, he his Slappy behind his basement wall and bricked it in, saying he'd make sure no one ever found Slappy again. Slappy assured him someone would find him.
