Effy’s Chocolate Cake is a chocolate sponge cake with icing that was originally baked by Effy, in Beware of the Purple Peanut Butter.
History[]
During a game of hide and seek with your cousins, you hide in the basement and find an old fridge containing two food items: the titular Purple Peanut Butter and a stale slice of chocolate cake in a white bakery box. If you eat the cake, you gradually start to grow bigger in both height and size.
Trivia[]
- The cake’s effects on the reader are the polar opposite of the Purple Peanut Butter, which makes the reader shrink upon consuming.
- The cake’s effects are also akin to Monster Blood.
- The Cake is in a box with fancy writing on the lid that says Effy’s Bakery, Midvale. This is a clue to the reader as to how to get back to normal size.
- When trying to remember which bakery and location it says on the box, another location it suggests to the reader is Maddy’s Bakery, Elmville. This is to test the reader, to see if they were paying attention.
- Effy originally baked the cake for a short customer, but it was mistakenly taken by another customer, who later moved away, hence how it came to be in the refrigerator in Aunt Fiona and Uncle Harvey’s basement.
- The cake is stale with a funny aftertaste by the time of Beware of the Purple Peanut Butter, and Aunt Fiona and Uncle Harvey tell the reader they’ve not cleaned the basement since they first moved in, making how exactly long it’s been there unclear.
