Herbert Wimplemeyer (better known by his alias Dr. Eeek) is the main antagonist from the fourth Give Yourself Goosebumps book, The Deadly Experiments of Dr. Eeek.
History[]
At least 3 months before the events of The Deadly Experiments of Dr. Eeek, Herbert was fired from EIK (Engineered Inner Knowledge) Labs for being crazy. He then decided to build and open his own lab, Eeek Labs, one floor above EIK Labs, where he runs experiments on children, and took on the alias of Dr. Eeek.
In The Deadly Experiments of Dr. Eeek, you and Sam decide to visit EIK Labs to see your mother (who promised to meet you and Sam to take you to a movie after finishing her work there), but accidentally get off the wrong floor, stumbling upon Eeek Labs instead. Dr. Eeek then offers to perform the Raster Experiment on you and Sam, which what the experiment is depends on the choices you make.
Experiments[]
- Raster Experiment - This experiment’s details depend on the storyline. Out of all the possibilities, the Raster Experiment could either be a taste test featuring weird cereal flavors, electrocuting kids with radioactive pickles, virtual reality, or growing kids to giant sizes.
- G-Substance - A glowy, green goo that when attached to human skin, will grow and encase the victim.
- Canine Maze - A secret maze hidden behind an operating room inhabited by deadly German Shepherds. By eating the dog food from a vending machine hidden inside, humans will transform into German Shepherds. A giant man-eating rat also inhabits a hidden room in the maze.
- Joseph - A kid/dog hybrid who was experimented on and kept in captivity in Dr. Eeek’s lab. He gives you a silver whistle that helps you later on in the book.
- Vamporilla - An extremely violent and short-tempered gorilla/vampire hybrid contained in a steel vault that will tear anyone in its range apart.
- Chimpanzee Enclosure - An enclosure where Dr. Eeek’s assistants, including Professor Yzark, study chimpanzees exhibiting human behaviors.
Trivia[]
- Dr. Eeek is revealed to be 58 years old, making him one of the few Give Yourself Goosebumps characters to have a confirmed age.
- Dr. Eeek orders a half mushroom, half pepperoni pizza every day from Dominick’s Pizza (which is on the first floor of the skyscraper), and the deliveryman is given a key to Eeek Labs for convenience while Dominick’s sends a monthly bill. This actually saves you in one ending, as when you and Sam are trapped in the lab, the pizza delivery guy unlocks the door and give you and Sam the chance to summon the police.
