History[]

Years ago, Danny O'Dell was a ventriloquist, performing acts with his dummy Wilbur. He would eventually retire from performing and would open up a camera shop. But his love of ventriloquism never vanished as he would start to collect various dummies and keep them in a makeshift museum in his attic. His most recent acquisition being a dummy that was thrown in the trash, which he names "Smiley".

When his nephew Zane stays for a little while, he tells his kids Trina and Dan Jr. that he doesn't want them scaring Zane like they usually do. But soon as Zane and his father show up, strange things start happening. One of the dummies, Rocky, continues to show up in certain places and scares Zane, and Zane's camera gets broken, with Trina and Dan taking the blame. However, it's soon revealed to all be the work of Zane. However, Trina and Dan accidentally bring Smiley to life, who is soon revealed to be Slappy the Dummy. More mayhem happens, with Trina and Dan blamed for it. Eventually Slappy is defeated by the other dummies, but Zane is never blamed for any of his actions.
