Crystal's Mom is a character from the first book in the Goosebumps Series 2000 book Cry of the Cat, along with its television adaptation.
History[]
Crystal's mother was a scientist who tried to create a cure for a deadly virus. Given how a cat's immune system is similar to humans, she experimented on cats. However, every cat she experimented on died in the process. The only exception was Rip. While her experimenting did kill Rip, the cat didn't stay dead. Rip would then scratch her constantly. Every time Rip would scratch her, it would take away more of her life force and in the process transform her more into a cat.
When Alison Moore began to suffer the same curse of Rip, she went to Crystal and her mom for help. However, this turned out to be a bad idea, as the two would try to capture Alison so that Rip could continue to take away her life force while they make their escape. Alison and Ryan manage to defeat Rip and the other dead cats. The result of Rip's permanent death reverses the mutation of Crystal's mother, turning her human again. Both Crystal and her mother become eternally grateful for Alison and Ryan for finally ending the curse of Rip and tell the kids they're going to leave town.
