Camp Timber Lake Hills is a summer sleepaway camp attended by David Stevenson in P.S. Don't Write Back.
History[]
In the story, the young Dave Stevenson is staying at Camp Timber Lake Hills and is enjoying his time in it so far, but he becomes concerned when he's yet to receive a call from his parents in over a week. Denied from trying to call his parents from his Counselor Sam, he eventually recieves letters from individuals initially believed to be his parents, but becomes skeptical upon hearing his sister misses his presence despite being happy for him leaving for the camp. It's soon addressed that the letters are meant for a different Dave Stevenson, residing in the neighboring camp, "Camp Timber Lane Hills" across the lake. Dave decides to sneak to this camp via one of the boats at Timber Lake Hills while the other campers are participating in a scavenger hunt. When Dave returns, he's scolded by Sam the counselor, but when Dave attempts to explain to him of the other camp, Sam tells him the camp burnt down 30 years prior and tells him to get sleep. Dave eventually discovers the letters were dated to 1964.
Trivia[]
- Camp Timber Lake Hills had a “twin” camp named Camp Timber Lane Hills, that was across the lake from it before it burned down in the 1960’s.
- The near identical name is how the letters to the other David Stevenson were accidentally sent to Camp Timber Lake Hills, and how they ended up being put into the drawer due to nobody claiming them.
