Like [[Thalia Halpert-Rodis|Thalia]], Ben befriends the new kid, Tommy Frazer. Ben assists Thalia and Tommy with decorating for the upcoming dance at Bell Valley Middle Schoo. It is oblivious that Ben enjoys cracking jokes nonstop. Ben accompanies Tommy to the colorless dimension, Grayworld. In Grayworld, Ben annoys Seth Cortez and the other kids with his lame jokes. Unlike Tommy, Ben doesn't believe that the kids in Greyworld were sent there by a photographer. Ben quickly begins to panic when two boys start losing their color rapidly. Ben is equally scared when he and Tommy are confronted by the insane members of the class of 1947. Eventually, its revealed that Thalia is the only one who escaped Grayworld. Ben begs Thalia to help the other kids get back to the world of color. Thalia complies and helps free the kids. At the end of the book it is impiled that Ben is also sent back to Grayworld permanently by the same photographer, Mr. Chameleon, who imprisoned the class of 1947. |

Ben Jackson is the second protagonist next to main character Tommy Frazer in the fifty-ninth book The Haunted School.
History
The Haunted School
Like some of the other characters in the book, not much is known about Ben's family except he stated early on that he had a brother. Like Thalia, Ben befriends the new kid, Tommy Frazer.
