Ben Hassad's parents have hailed from Egypt and as he grew up, he became quite fascinated with the land his ancestors came from and went to Egypt to study his family history. Sadly at one point, his wife passed away, forcing his daughter, Sari, to go to a boarding school in Chicago and the only time she visited was in the summer. Whilst he was in Egypt, Ben had made some very amazing discoveries in the Pyramids, making him famous and appearing on the covers of magazines, while his daughter became highly competitive, mainly with his nephew Gabe (who is his sister's son), which was most notable when she left Gabe in a house that was said to be haunted, making him worry. There were also moments when Ben couldn't pass up an opportunity to play a trick on his nephew, which has often annoyed Gabe, but he has become quite close to him and Gabe idolizes him for what he has accomplished. Over the years, Ben has continued to do more mining in the pyramids to see if there was anything else to discover within them.
Ben is Egyptian-American and is very big and broad with thinning gray hair.
Ben is a very jolly man with an endless supply of humor and he can never resist playing a joke on anyone, which tends to annoy Gabe at times. He is really fascinated of the land his ancestors came from and he would look up on their history. Ben gets really excited when he knows that he is getting close to discovering something and he would not let any superstition get in his way, as he is pretty skeptical when it comes to superstitions. There are moments where Ben is very serious and he can be very distrusting of some people, including Dr. Omar Fielding (until that incident with Nila). He can also be pretty stern with Gabe and Sari sometimes, but he still likes them. Ben is still a jolly and kind person who always likes to have a good laugh with his family and friends.
