Avi Pamani is a character in Goosebumps: The Vanishing. He is portrayed by Sendhil Ramamurthy.
History[]
Avi assembled a small team of scientists, including his daughter, Ramona, to investigate a ship that had been found and Garrett, a camp counselor encased in a pod by the ship. The team was isolated from the outside world as they worked to develop a serum that would dissolve the pod and leave the being inside alive. When it finally worked on a mouse, the team was excited to test it on a human. But Avi's plan was to use it on the ship, to disable it. The team opposed, but he said it was the only way to save humanity. He injected the serum into the ship, but later that night, he realized the ship was fighting back. His team was infected, so he and Ramona raced for the exit, where he told her his suit was compromised. He told her she needed to continue his research and contain the threat on her own, then he closed the door, sealing himself and the others inside.[1]
Avi woke up fifty-five years later when Ramona brought him out of the facility. She told him she needed his help to continue working. He told her he'd been wrong all those years ago and she needed to let it go. When Jen and Anthony went back to Fort Jerome and released the ship, Avi and the other scientists, plus the four teens from 1994 all went back to space with the aliens.[2]
