Goosebumps (original series)

Dude, this book was REALLY strange. I don't know what to say about it, I finished this book a while ago but comprehending this book takes a while. So that's why I'm gonna rant about it. I enjoyed this book but it was odd, even compared to R. L. Stine's weirder works like "A Shocker on Shock Street" this was crazy. First off this was way more science fiction than horror (Which happens occasionally for Goosebumps.) Second, this book's story is so WEIRD it doesn't have much of the tropes for Goosebumps. Third, the Class of 1947 is still one of the scariest Goosebumps quote-on-quote villains. (Not because there scary (which they are) but because of how strange and uncanny they felt.) Final thoughts, this book is really odd but I do seriously believe it could become a classic book because I have never read something like it. (There are books similar to it but never children's books I feel.)

Why do a lot of people hate this book and call it “the worst”? I mean, its not that bad and the book doesn’t make me mad.

This was my favorite goosebumps book, I don’t understand why people hate it so much. 😢

In 2015, Columbia pictures released the goosebumps movie, where one of the main characters, Hannah, gets sucked into the book at the end and ends up coming back later. In the movie, Jack Black (As R.L. Stine) says that he, "May have written one more book." And back in the 90's, one of the goosebumps books was titled the ghost next door. In that book, the main character is named Hannah. This either means that Hannah is from The Ghost Next Door, or that was the book that R.L. Stine wrote in the movie. The art of Goosebumps also hints at this. in a Stine says part, it states "Could this be the same Hannah I supposedly adopted in the goosebumps film?" Anybody else agree with me?

I don't know if this has been found or not. I was looking at the Extended theme of goosebumps and I saw a comment that intruiged me. It was from horrortimeproductions5504 on youtube. The comment reads: "I remember back in 1995, I heard this full song from a pilot episode of the show. It only aired once and it was a special night I guess, Fox called it ''A Goosebumps Sneak Peak.'' The intro was longer, then R.L. Stine talks for about 10 minutes, and the episode finally starts, which was an early version of a later released episode. I don't remember the name or have a recording of it, I just remember seeing it when I was an early teen. I can say the logo font looked kind of different, but that could just be me." Im not sure if this has already been found by someone or if the commenter is remembering wrong. I know of the lost intro, but the part with R. L. Stine isn't something I could find. Goosebumps is based off of the best-selling book series with the same name by R.L. Stine written in the 1990s. All together, the series has over 200 books — yep, you heard us right — and was the best-selling series of all time for several years (pre-Harry Potter). According to Disney Branded Television, the Disney+ series adaptation will be influenced by five of the most popular Goosebumps books.

Per the official logline, “The series follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together — thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries and pasts with each other — in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process.”

So far, Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Ana Yi Puig, Miles McKenna and Will Pricehave been cast — and we can’t wait to see them in action! Another actor set to star in Goosebumps is Justin Long, who is most well-known for his roles in Dodgeball, Alvin and the Chipmunks, He’s Just Not That Into You and Live Free or Die Hard.

Justin will play Nathan Bratt, said to be “the new schoolteacher who develops a terrifying connection to a decades-old supernatural murder.”

Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman will serve as co-creators and executive producers on the show, with Stoller executive producing and Kevin Murphy serving as executive producer and showrunner.

The Disney+ show is now the second live-action Goosebumps series to see air, not to mention the movie starring Jack Black which premiered in 2015. The first series version aired for four seasons and 74 episodes between 1996 and 1998. That show was an episodic anthology, with each episode based on a different Goosebumps book. Mostly, it faithfully adapted the books in the series and starred some then-unknown names like Ryan Gosling!

Zach is set to play Isaiah, described as “a popular star football player whose financial struggles at home, has him and his family banking on his athleticism to secure him a full ride to college.”

Isa Briones

Isa is Jane in the Goosebumps series, who “typically has her head in a book, causing her classmates to think she is a snob but she is just laser focused on her writing and creating a life that is interesting enough for a memoir.”

Ana Yi Puig

Ana has been cast as Isabella. She is described as “smart and naturally shy with an overwhelming sense of responsibility.”

Miles McKenna

Miles will play James, “the class clown who loves the spotlight and hails from one of the wealthiest families in Port Lawrence.”

I've been very curious as to what books are canonically present and owned by the movie "r.l. stine" in the film other than "haunted halloween" and some of the seen monsters. if i were to assume only the mainstream books would exist.

The new “Goosebumps” TV series has been picked up by Disney Plus, Varietyhas learned exclusively.

The new series version of the beloved R.L. Stine books was first reported as being in the works in April 2020. Disney Plus has given the show a 10-episode order.

The series follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together – thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries, and pasts with each other – in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process.

Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman serve as writers and executive producers on the show, with Stoller executive producing via Stoller Global Solutions. Letterman will also direct the first episode. Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, Conor Welch of Stoller Global Solutions, and Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman of Scholastic Entertainment are also executive producing. Sony Pictures Television Studios will produce. Original Film and Stoller Global Solutions are currently under TV overall deals with Sony.

Moritz was a producer on the two recent “Goosebumps” feature films, which were released in 2015 and 2018. Letterman directed the first film. Collectively, both of the movies grossed over $250 million.

Published by Scholastic, “Goosebumps” is one of the best-selling book series of all time. More than 400 million English-language copies of the books are now in print, plus international editions in 32 languages. There are now more than 200 “Goosebumps” books in total, including the main book series as well as various spinoffs and related book series.

The Disney Plus show is now the second live-action “Goosebumps” series to make it to air. The first version aired for four seasons and 74 episodes between 1996 and 1998. That show was an episodic anthology, with each episode based on a different “Goosebumps” book. This is also the second R.L. Stine series to be ordered at Disney Plus. The streamer previously ordered a series adaptation of Stine’s “Just Beyond” graphic novels. The show debuted its eight-episode first season in October 2021.

Ok the goosebumps story is “My one true Nightmare”. But it’s never been tested yet.
