Compared to the original novel Bride of the Living Dummy, the TV version's adaptation of the ending of this episode is simply terrible.

The heroine Jillian in the novel suspects that her sisters are possessed by Slappy, but it turns out that the possessed person is herself. This ending is wonderful and unexpected. But in the TV series version, the character is possessed is Jillian’s male classmate Harrison, there is no surprise at all.
